Rule of the Road Item

Distance Education – The Kansas Board of Regents supports distance and mediated delivery as an integral part of higher education and requires high quality programs. Distance programs are expected to be self-supporting through program revenues by assessing fees to cover the additional costs. Distance education courses are classes in which “faculty and students are physically separated in place or time and in which two-thirds of the instruction is provided via mediated delivery (with 10 or more hours of instruction per credit hour delivered electronically).” Distance education (degree or certificate) programs require 50 percent or more of the content (courses) to be delivered via distance learning.
